On arrival
Restaurant Access for those with physical disabilities is available via the main entrance from the street level. Customers are required to open the door for access, but staff will be there to assist if needed. The outward opening front doorway is sufficiently wide (over 90cm) for normal wheelchairs and staff will place a ramp down for the slight doorstep at the entry.
Toilets are located in the basement. Due to the age and layout of the building an elevator installation has not been possible. The staircase to the basement is an ambulant staircase. Staff will be at hand to guide wheelchairs users to neighbouring Drayton Arms Pub with a ground level disabled toilet access.
Diners would usually make a reservation for the Restaurant, and, at this time, it is possible to plan table allocations to create sufficient space for a wheelchair. Waiter/waitress service is available at the bar and directly from the table, and there is background music throughout the premise.
Menus are changed quite often, and it is not therefore possible to provide a Braille menu. However, with adequate notice, a special large print menu could be provided.
The nearest tube is Gloucester Road station which is a 7 min walk to the restaurant while South Kensington Tube station is a 9 minute walk away. The nearest hospital with an A&E is Chelsea Westminster Hospital.
